Biography

I was born in Logansport Indiana. I joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and served three tours in Vietnam. I came home a disabled Vet, and attended the University of Wisconsin as an art major. I moved to Arizona in 1980. I have always been a Knife Collector. I attended the Arizona Knife Collectors Association Show in Mesa and met D Alston Holder. He showed me the way to put together a quality knife and in 1999 I sold my first knife.

In 2003 the folder bug bit me. I looked to the best folder makers and spent a week with Texas legend Johnny Stout and spent time with Bill Ruple. I credit many more knife makers with helping me along the way. They are a great group of people I call my friends.

I am a full-time knife maker and a member of American Bladesmith Society, Arizona Knife Collectors Association, Oregon Knife Collectors Association, Southern California Blades, and B.A.K.C.A. I recently earned my Journeyman Smith status from the ABS.
